Sergio Pitamitz

Award winning wildlife and conservation photographer Sergio Pitamitz has French and Italian double citizenship. He enjoys spending as much time as possible in his beloved Menton in the French Riviera.

He is a National Geographic Image Collection contract photographer and Fellow of iLCP - International League of Conservation Photographers. On assignments, he has traveled in more than 100 countries in all the seven continents. He is a contributor of National Geographic Magazine Italy and his images and stories have appeared in numerous other publications including BBC Wildlife, Terre Sauvage, Paris Match, The New York Times, Figaro Magazine and National Geographic magazines, books and website. His first book, Wild Africa - with a conservation foreword by acclaimed National Geographic photojournalist Steve Winter- was released in 2016 at the International Nature Photography Festival of Montier-en-Der in France.

Sergio has been awarded in international photo contests such as Nature's Best, National Wildlife and Audubon. He won the NPPA - National Press Photography Association "Best of Photojournalism 2016 - Environmental Category". He enjoys sharing his photojournalism expertise giving lectures at photography events and on National Geographic Expeditions. Sergio has travelled multiple times to Antarctica and Arctic.
